FuzziBunz® and Diaper Rash

With regular changing, most babies will experience little to no diaper rash with their FuzziBunz® diapers. Should a rash occur, NEVER use any rash or diaper ointments or creams with the FuzziBunz diapers. Diaper rash ointments and creams cause diapers to repel wetness and not function as the diaper should. Any diapers affected by diaper rash treatments are not covered by the manufacturer's warranty.

In the event of a diaper rash, the following treatment options may be considered:

  • Use a zinc powder instead of a rash ointment or cream; or
  • Use a rice paper liner between the ointment and the FuzziBunz fleece; or
  • As many of us parents have done before, let your baby go Au Natural for a while at home - the exposure to air helps the rash healing process.

If you accidently get diaper rash ointment on the FuzziBunz diaper, the manufacturer recommends the following to help restore the diapers performance (though the warranty will still be void):

  • Wash your diaper normally (see Washing FuzziBunz Diapers)
  • After washing, apply some dishwashing liquid, such as Dawn, to the affected area.
  • Scrub the affected area with a toothbrush or other soft bristle brush.
  • Note that while this is a manufacturer recommended method, it may not always work.
